About Western Australia

First discovered in 1616 by Dutchman Dirk Hartog and officially founded in 1829 as the Swan River Colony, is the largest state in Australia, Western Australia.

These nine regions make up Western Australia.

Western Australia is also well known for mining. Western Australia is a big supplier of iron ore, being the second largest iron ore provider in the world. In fact, it produces a total of 46% percent of all of Australia’s exports. Those exports are mainly mining and agriculture.
